The Meriwether Lewis Chapter of the Lewis and Clark Trail Heritage Foundation, Inc. was chartered May 2002, as a non-profit corporation in Tennessee. The purpose of the organization is to promote awareness and advance public knowledge in the history of the Lewis and Clark Expedition (1804-1806), and better understanding of the Expedition's impact on events, peoples, and places. The Meriwether Lewis Chapter works to preserve expedition related materials, artifacts, and sites.
